Desert Bus For Hope is the world's longest running internet-based fundraiser and has raised more than $1.8 million for Child's Play over its seven-year history.

"Desert Bus" is a mini-game from the never-released Sega CD game Penn & Teller's Smoke and Mirrors. Challenging the player to drive virtual bus on an endless, eight-hour-long strip of highway between Tucson, Arizona, and Las Vegas, Nevada, it is widely regarded to be the worst video game ever made.

They play it for as long as donations come in. In order to keep things interesting for their viewers, they have live and silent auctions, giveaways and contests, celebrity guests and a lot of silliness.

The Doubleclicks are a pair of sisters from Portland, Oregon who write songs that are all at once snarky, geeky and sweet.
Raheem Jarbo, known as Random or Mega Ran is an American underground rapper, Chiptunes DJ, and record producer. He is mainly associated with the genre known as Nerdcore Hip-Hop.

We’re driving through the desert on our desert bus
It’s gonna take a while so come with us
We’re driving through the desert on our desert bus
We hope we’ll get there some day

Vroom! here it come, hear that sound? it’s begun
Burn the ground, feel the sun, drivin round, havin fun
Make it loud, take it from our base in vegas
To our secret destination, on a mission:
Mad cash acquisition
Fillin’ pockets? Philanthropic
Make you shake when we drop it
Helpin kids with that profit
Gettin bids for that auction
You can’t stop it, gonna rock it
Till the wallets are exhausted
An we shift it, pop it, drift it, QWOP it
Drive until the wheels come off it

Tuscon to Vegas now I’ll be checkin my gauges
And we’ll be ridin for days but I know that we’ll make it
There’s not a whole lot to see - no vegetation or trees
It’s just dirt and rocks and oh - look - more dirt, we got
A tank full o gas and so I know it will last
For miles over the speed limit not goin too fast
Singin a song that I wrote
So listen to every note
And put a foot on the gas and let’s go

New merch!

Mocking music that takes itself a little (or a lot) too seriously, MC 117 produces pan-referential straight-faced commentary of hip hop, video games, and pop culture at large. Focusing on audial allusions and lyrical sleight-of-hand, this satire auteur carves his own genre in the fertile ground between "knockoff" and "ripoff". ... more
